Established in 2001, the Dot NAME universal domain extension is the only one meant for personal sites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are famous by. Initially, just 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you planned to acquire john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already grabbed 3rd-level names remained working.

Through our firm, you can grab your .NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will be able to update the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already registered domain to our company if you receive its EPP transfer code from the present registrar and we will renew it after the transfer has been finished. There are no particular stipulations on who can grab a dot NAME domain, but in order to maintain the objective behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.
